The Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council presents an engaging concert filled with playful and powerful pieces. Kaleidoscope concerts educate as well as entertain, bringing the joy and excitement of dance to people of all ages. Including a story dance with masks, a funny dance based on children's games and songs, an inspirational dance about conflict and resolution, and several other memorable performances this will be an enjoyable show for the whole family.
Kaleidoscope is the Northwest’s own modern dance company of children between the ages of 7 and 15, the only one of its kind in the country. These engaging dancers have performed for hundreds of thousands of children and adults across the world. For thirty-one years, Kaleidoscope has represented the United States at the prestigious Dance and the Child International Conferences in Taipei, Taiwan (2012); Kingston, Jamaica (2009); The Hague, The Netherlands, (2006); Salvador, Bahia, Brazil (2003); Regina, Canada (2000); Kuopio, Finland (1997); and in Sydney, Australia (1994). In the United States, Kaleidoscope has performed and participated in Dance and the Child conferences in Salt Lake City, Utah (1991); Philadelphia, PA (2005), and Denton, Texas (2011).

Through Director Anne Green Gilbert’s artistic direction and her philosophy that young people are able to achieve a professional level of artistic expression, Kaleidoscope has established its unique place among dance companies in the country. Anne Green Gilbert is the author of BrainDance, Teaching the Three Rs Through Movement, Creative Dance for All Ages, and Brain-Compatible Dance Education. She has conducted hundreds of residencies in schools and workshops for teachers all over the world.
The 11am performance will be held at the Shoreline Community College Campus Theater located at 16101 Greenwood Ave N, Building 1600 in Shoreline WA. Tickets to this family friendly performance are $8 and can be purchased by calling the Shoreline – Lake Forest Park Arts Council office at 206-417-4645 or by going to their website.
The Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to nurture all of the arts in the community through programs and events, arts education, advocacy, and support for artists and arts organizations.
