Shoreline women’s basketball falls to a top region opponent

Wednesday, February 13, 2013

After a tough fight through the entire game the Shoreline Community College Women’s Basketball team could not finish on top against the Skagit Valley Cardinals.

After a close first half the Dolphins ending 38-29  to Skagit Valley and a total of 6 lead changes, the Dolphins could not hang on. The final score on the night was 82-55 leaving Shoreline with a record of 10-12 on the season.

Shoreline came away with some great rebounding with 49 total, 24 on the offensive end. This great rebounding once again led many second chance points. Maile Keanu led the team in rebounding pulling down 7 boards and having 15 points. Caitlin Rousopolos also had a good night with 8 points and 6 rebounds.

The Cardinal’s were great from behind the arch leading to 27 of their points. The Skagit Valley bench also stepped up to account for 48 of their 82 points.

Shoreline moves into the final stretch of the NWAACC regular season with only 3 games left. The Dolphins will play Edmonds Community College in Edmonds, WA this Saturday, February 16th, 2013 at 5:00 PM. Shoreline defeated Edmonds earlier in the season 59-56 so we are looking forward to another great game.

Be sure to mark your calendars for Shoreline’s Sophomore Night at their last home game of the season on February 20, 2013 against Peninsula College. This will be the last game in SCC Gym for Sophomores Anita Huang, Deja Davis, Caitlin Roussopolos and Wendy Wang.
