The Shoreline Community College Men’s Basketball team is on a roll! They have now won 5 games in a row. And it is just in time with only 3 games left to decide who makes it to the NWAACC Playoffs. The Dolphins won Wednesday night on their home floor 94-84 against Skagit Valley College.
Tonight’s game was truly one of ups and downs. The Dolphins at one time led by as much as 15 but before you knew it the game was within 5 points. Sophomore Center Nashon George was Shoreline’s scoring leader with 23 points and 9 rebounds. Bulla Vienna came away with a double-double off of the bench scoring 16 points and pulling down 14 rebounds. Guard Kadeem Stewart also had a double-double with 17 points and 10 assists.
For the Skagit Valley Cardinals Riley Newman led the game in scoring with 29 points. Where the Cardinals suffered the most was in their 18 turnovers. Shoreline was able to convert many of those into fast breaks leading to 17 of their points.
The Dolphins now have a record of 7-14 overall. They are currently tied with Bellevue College for 5th place in the region and only one game behind both Peninsula College and Everett Community College. Needless to say it is a very tight match for the 3rd and 4th Northern Region spot. Shoreline is in the hunting for a spot in the NWAACC Conference Tournament in there next two games.
Shoreline is playing the number one team in the Northern Region, Edmonds Community College, on Saturday February 16th, 2013 in Edmonds, WA at 7:00 PM. The Dolphins need help packing the house in Edmonds to help get an upset and continue their win streak.
