BNA hosts discussion on homelessness

Monday, January 7, 2013

The Briarcrest Neighborhood Association will host a discussion Tuesday night, “How to see and help those who are homeless in our community.”

Bill Bear, former director of the BNA, will lead a panel at the neighborhood’s regular monthly meeting. Bill is a board member of Greater Seattle Cares, which supports Tent City 3, and is a participant in the Lake City Task Force on Homeless. Several members of our local homeless community will join him on the panel.

Volunteers are needed immediately for a new emergency shelter in our neighborhood, which opens on the coldest nights this winter. We hope the dialogue will address long-term help for our homeless neighbors.

The meeting starts at 7 pm Tuesday, Jan. 8, at the Seattle Congregational Church, 15518 27th Ave NE (rear entrance). Email for more information.
