Rex Kinney and Angelo Buelva, coaches of the Shorecrest Hip Hop Dance Team as well as professional dancers and choreographers themselves, pull together a fabulous show that happens once a year to a sold out audience. The Dance team started in 1993 with founder Candy Jimenez and its purpose is to promote diversity within our local community by using hip hop dance as its medium.

To date, the team has worked hard to achieve the following accomplishments:

  • 2012 National Champions - Extra Small Division
  • 2012 National Champions - Small Division
  • 2010 National Champions Small Division
  • 2010 National Champions Medium Division
  • 2010 WIAA State Champions
  • 2009 WIAA State Champions
  • 2006 WIAA State Champions
  • 2004-2010 District Champions
  • 2006, 2007 WIAA Academic Champions

The team does not compete nationally every year, but through fundraising efforts such as Physical Poetry is hoping to raise enough funds to compete at the State competition this year.
