The week ahead: Our wet weather is going to continue for the next week. Sunday is going to be windy with winds gusting possibly up to 40 MPH. Current models are indicating a possible second wind event on Tuesday.  Later in the week, Thursday - Saturday may calm down a little from our active weather pattern.

Cold Arctic air has been still building in Western and Northern Canada. Most models are now agreeing that we will be hit hard with a cold snap from middle of December on. The chances of a White Christmas are much higher than normal this year. I would like to point out that the further out these forecasts go the more uncertain they are. I will continue to monitor the cold air threat to the north of us.

Last week's highlights: We had some cold nights to start off the week last week, two nights dipped to near freezing. Radiative cooling caused some ice and frost to develop in most exposed places. The active weather pattern started back up again starting on Wednesday generating more rainfall. Heaviest of course occurred Friday and into Saturday morning. Friday brought in a total rainfall of 1.57 inches.

Rainiest day: 1.57 inches (Friday)

Total rainfall: 2.05 inches

Warmest day: 47.7°F (Friday)

Coldest day: 36.8°F (Monday)

Average temperature: 41.9°F

Warmest and coldest days are based on average temperature of the entire day, starting at midnight. All other averages are based on the whole week, starting Saturday morning at midnight. All weather data unless otherwise noted is sourced from Carl's Shoreline Weather Station.
