Shorewood girls basketball take division-leading 2-0 Wesco record into Friday home game

The Shorewood girls’ basketball team takes a division-leading 2-0 Western Conference 3A record (4-1 overall into a home game with Mountlake Terrace (0-1 Wesco 3A, 1-3 overall) after a 60-50 home victory over Meadowdale Wednesday.

Shorewood and Mountlake Terrace meet at 7:15 p.m. Friday at Shorewood High School, with junior varsity teams from the two schools meeting at 5:40.

In Shorewood’s victory over Meadowdale, the Thunderbirds trailed 19-10 after the first quarter before pulling into a 30-30 halftime tie, taking a 43-42 lead after three quarters and pulling away to the 60-50 victory. Masha Shtikel led the T-birds with 21 points.

The Shorewood junior varsity lost to Meadowdale, 62-29. The Thunderbird “C” team lost 70-8.
