Shorecrest girls play non-league home game Saturday

The Shorecrest girls' basketball team plays a Saturday non-league home game against 2A Burlington-Edison after falling to 0-2 in Western Conference 3A play (1-4 overall) with a loss at Glacier Peak Wednesday.

Shorecrest and Burlington meet at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, with junior varsity teams playing at 5:40.

In Shorecrest’s 69-40 loss to Glacier Peak, the Scots trailed 27-8 after the first quarter, 41-18 at halftime and 59-29 after three quarters. Onyie Chibuogwu led scoring for both teams with 23 points. The Shorecrest junior varsity lost 51-41.

Chibuogwu leads the Shorecrest varsity in scoring for the season with 51 points in 5 games for an average of 10.2 points per game.
