Shorecrest boys play at Lynnwood Tuesday after home victories over Cascade and Kamiak


The Shorecrest boys' basketball team takes a 2-0 record into a game at Lynnwood Tuesday, Dec. 4, after home victories over Cascade Tuesday, Nov. 27, and Kamiak Friday, Nov. 30.

The game at Lynnwood will mark Shorecrest's third game against a Western Conference 4A opponent before the Scots open Wesco 3A play at Shorewood Friday, Dec. 7.

Lynnwood has a 1-1 record after a loss to 3A Meadowdale and a victory over 3A Ingraham of Seattle.

The games at Lynnwood and Shorewood are both scheduled for 7:15 p.m., with junior varsity games at 5:40 and C-team games at 3:45.

The Shorecrest varsity opened the season with a 72-38 victory over Cascade before defeating Kamiak 81-73.

The Scot junior varsity defeated Cascade, 55-25, and Kamiak, 80-57.

The Shorecrest "C" team defeated Cascade, 66-16, and lost to Kamiak, 41-34.

In Shorecrest's varsity victory over Cascade, the Scots led 19-10 after the first quarter, 37-15 at halftime and 57-20 after three quarters, before cruising to the 72-38 victory. Liam O'Neill and Alex Horning each scored 11 points to lead Shorecrest.

In the Scots' victory over Kamiak, the game was tied, 23-23 after the first quarter before the Knights took a 44-40 halftime lead, and Shorecrest pulled back into a 54-54 tie after three quarters and outscored Kamiak 27-19 in the final period for the 81-73 victory. Horning led the Scots with 23 points, and Conin Olshi scored 21.

Horning's 44 points in two games gives him an average of 22.0 points per game.
