SCC Men's basketball routed by Mountaineer’s Club team

Russell Paynes
The Shoreline Community College Men's Basketball Team ran into a buzz saw at the "Pirate" Classic Tournament in Port Angeles, WA on Friday as the Mountaineer Club Team beat the Dolphins 130-78. The Mountaineers are made up of former college basketball players from the Seattle area including ex-Dolphin Avery Scharer from last year's SCC squad.

SCC had a cold shooting hand in the first half, only scoring 29 points and then in the second, the Mountaineers exploded for 73 points.

Shoreline was led by Russell Paynes and Isaac Wodajo with 13 points each and Nahshon George who scored 11 points with 7 rebounds. Dean Viena and Adam Johnson each scored 10 points for the Dolphins as well.

Shoreline plays another Seattle based club team tonight in the Blue Angels, who defeated Peninsula College last night 93-83 at the Pirate Classic. SCC is now 0-4 on the year.
