On December 13, 2012, the Fire Chief from the Northshore Fire Department participated in Storytime at the Kenmore Library.
Chief Jim Torpin read to a group of nearly 40 children and their parents. Following the reading he answered a wide range of questions about all aspects of fire department services from both children and parents.
Although it was cold and gray outside, inside the beautiful new library Chief Torpin brought out smiles from the entire group when he handed out fire helmets and gold sticker badges to all of the children. Many of the kids wore their helmets and posed for pictures with the Chief.
“It’s great to be able to participate in an event like this, said Chief Torpin, “seeing all of those smiling faces really made my day.”
Kenmore Mayor David Baker and Fire Marshal Jeff LaFlam also read to the group and answered questions.
