The Shorewood girls swimming team has been selected as an Academic State Champion for the fall sports season. The Scholastic Awards Program, sponsored by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association, Dairy Farmers of Washington, and Les Schwab Tires, recognizes the team with the highest grade point average among all Washington high schools in their enrollment classification. Shorewood is classified as a 3A school. The T-Birds are coached by Susie McDowell and Jeremy Hunter. The 41 girls on the Shorewood team have a combined 3.797 grade point average.
The winning teams will be presented with a special plaque at the upcoming WIAA/Dairy Farmers of Washington/Les Schwab Tires State Championships. A complete list of the winning teams can be found here.
The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association exists to assist member schools in operating student programs that foster achievement, respect, equity, enthusiasm and excellence in a safe and organized environment.
