Potential pllan for Sunset School Park |
According to the Friends of Sunset Park, the Shoreline School Board will be moving ahead with plans to demolish the Sunset Elementary School and turn the use of the land over to the City of Shoreline for a public park.
The meeting is scheduled for Monday November 5 in the Board Room of the School District’s administrative offices at the Shoreline Center, 18560 1st Ave NE.
The school board will vote on the adoption of a resolution to temporarily surplus the Sunset Elementary School Site. This action will allow the School District to proceed with an agreement with the City of Shoreline in which the city would assume responsibility for the maintenance, utilities, supervision and scheduling of the recreational use of the Sunset site once the demolition is completed.
Assuming that the resolution passes, the board will vote to award the demolition contract, including removal of the foundation. The total bid is $276,075.
