Donate old eyeglasses at Aurora Plumbing & Electrical Supply

I’d like to share a discovery I made the other day. Aurora Plumbing and Electrical supply at 145th and Aurora hosts a collection box for eyeglasses and lenses to go to the Lions Club and be distributed to people in need in Jamaica and other poor countries.

Vince Christoffersen, an employee there, had just returned from his annual trip to help distribute glasses in Jamaica. The glasses put in the box get sent to a company in Olympia that donates their services to screen all the glasses and lenses and read their prescription. Opticians then travel to other countries to screen people in need and match them with an appropriate prescription.

Who doesn’t have an old pair of glasses in their drawer they don’t know what to do with?  What a great cause.
