Set in China’s Imperial City, Puccini’s spectacular masterpiece recounts the legend of a bloodthirsty princess whose icy, vengeful heart softens as she comes to know true love. The lyrical and sweeping score features many memorable melodies, including the popular tenor aria “Nessun dorma.” Stunning pageantry, passionate confrontations, the famous riddle scene, and one of opera’s most powerful kisses make Turandot a monumental achievement not to be missed.
