Ronald Wastewater District North City completes capital improvement projects under bid

Ronald Wastewater District reports they have been taking advantage of the low construction prices to rehabilitate sanitary sewer mainlines and some private side sewers in the North City neighborhood.

The first project was in the area of NE 172nd Street and NE 170 Street between 15 Ave NE and 22 Ave NE. The engineer’s construction estimate was $687,155.00; the bid price was $472,822.00. The actual construction cost was $449,061.35 for a 5% savings of $23,760.65.

The second project included work on NE 171st Street and NE 170 Street between 15th Ave NE and 18th Ave NE. The engineer’s construction estimate was $657,705.00; the bid price was $549,420.00. 

The actual construction cost was $515, 738.56 for a 6% savings of $33,681.44. Total savings for the projects was $57,442.09.

Your elected Board of Commissioners uses ratepayer money for sewer system improvements because maintaining an excellent sewer system is their mission and focus. For 60 years, Ronald Wastewater District has been working together with you, our ratepayers, to be excellent environmental stewards.
