The Shorewood baseball season ended Thursday, May 10, with a 10-9 extra-inning loss at Ferndale in a Northwest-District-3A-tournament game that had been suspended with a 9-9 tie after 14 innings Wednesday.

The losses to Mount Vernon in the tournament semifinal game and to Ferndale in the elimination game left the Thunderbirds with a 10-13 season record after an 8-8 Western Conference 3A record.

Ferndale went on to defeat Glacier Peak, the team that Shorewood had defeated in the first round.

Ferndale and Mount Vernon are to play in a Monday 4 p.m. game at Everett Memorial Stadium for the District’s No. 2 berth in State 3A play.

Mountlake Terrace took the District’s No. 1 berth in the tournament with a 6-3 victory over Mount Vernon Saturday.
