The Lady Dolphin softball team split a doubleheader last Monday with Olympic College, winning the first game 5-4 and then dropping the night-cap, 4-1.
In Game 1, SCC powered into a 5-0 lead by hitting three homeruns with Sophia Overlock-Pauley, Vallen Brewer and Devann Burney hitting four baggers for SCC.
Shoreline went into the top of the 7th inning looking strong, but Olympic rallied, cutting the lead from 5-0 to 5-4 with the tying run on 3rd base with 2 outs. But Kelsie Mason, in relief of starter and winner Alia Kelly (7-4) got the final out and SCC held on the for the win.
In Game 2, SCC got the lead in the 1st inning, 1-0, but OC tied it up in the top of the 4th and took the lead in the 6th with 2 runs and got another insurance run in the top of the 7th.
SCC was lead by Vallen Brewer with 2 hits in the second game, Kelsie Mason took her first loss of the season as the starting pitcher (3-1).
SCC is now 16-15-2 on the season and 11-7 in the NWAACC Northern Region. Olympic goes to 20-8 overall and 14-6 in the region.
SCC plays at Douglas College on Wednesday in a rain make-up. Douglas is only a game behind SCC in the standings for 3rd place, with a 9-7 record in the region, and 14-16 overall.
