SCC Names Jason Shaw and Daniel Cavanaugh Co-Players of the Week

Shoreline Community College named pitcher Jason Shaw and Left Fielder Daniel Cavanaugh Co-Players of the Week for their performances against Olympic College over the weekend.

Jason Shaw won his third straight game for the Dolphins, pitching a 4 hit shutout on Sunday against the Rangers. Shaw has allowed one run in his past three outings, all complete games against Bellevue, Douglas and Olympic colleges.

Cavanaugh drove in both runs in Sunday's 2-0 SCC victory over Olympic and was 4-10 for the weekend, with 4 RBIs and a double. One of the other RBIs was in the 6-1 win at Olympic College on Saturday, SCC's first road region win of the season.

SCC is now 5-28 overall, 4-16 in the region. SCC has this weekend off and will return for the final regional weekend on May 12-13 against Skagit Valley College. May 13 is the final home games for SCC for 2012. The SCC games against the Seattle University Club Team for this Sunday has been cancelled by SU.
