The improving SCC Baseball Team split two games with Olympic College on Sunday at Meridian College.
In Game 1, Jason Shaw continues his "Magic" on the mound, as he won his third game in a row pitching the first game on Sunday at Meridian Park, as he tossed a four hitter and shutout OC 2-0. Daniel Cavanaugh led SCC at the plate, going 2-3 driving in both SCC runs.
In Game 2, SCC led 2-1 going into the top of the 8th, but Olympic stuck for 3 runs in the top of the 8th to ahead 4-2. SCC scored 1 in the bottom of the 9th and had the base loaded, but could not push across the tying run.
SCC out hit Olympic 11-5 in the game and both Matt Sweeney and Jordan Padilla hit 3 hits each, but SCC errors caused 2 unearned runs and Willie Davies was the hard luck pitcher for Shoreline, giving up 5 hits and having 6 strikeouts in 7.1 innings, but getting the loss.
SCC is now 5-28 on the season, 4-16 in NWAACC Northern Region. OC falls to 12-23 and 3-13 in the region.
Shoreline has this weekend off and will face Skagit Valley College on May 12-13 to finish the season. The May 13th game will be the final home game of the season at Meridian Park.
The May 6th game against Seattle University Club Team has been cancelled by SU.
