From the Shoreline - Lake Forest Park Arts Council

Your time is precious, but you still want to contribute to your community; where can you go to volunteer? We have the answer! The Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council is looking for volunteers for our upcoming Shoreline Arts Festival, and with our variety of volunteer positions, there’s sure to be something just perfect for you. Whether you want to volunteer for two hours or two days (or more!), the Shoreline Arts Festival is the place to be!

June 23-24 marks our 22nd Annual Shoreline Arts Festival, an event filled with an active artists marketplace, juried art exhibitions, music and cultural performances, opportunities to meet local authors, hands-on art for children, art demonstrations, food, and much more. Held at the Shoreline Center at 185th and 1st NE, the event is one of our area’s prime summer activities, drawing thousands of people from around the area throughout the weekend.

We are looking for volunteers to help us throughout June 23 and 24 staffing our various art rooms, helping children create crafts in the hands-on area, assisting with set-up and take-down, and more. This is a great opportunity for people of all ages, including teens 16 and older who are looking to fill community service hours. For information and an application form, see our website
email the office, or call us at 206-417-4645.

For those looking for a more extensive, in-depth volunteer experience, we have two or three other options. We are seeking an apprentice to learn the ropes of our current volunteer food vendor liaison, a position that can be combined with the position of volunteer parking coordinator, depending on the availability and preferences of the volunteers. These positions primarily work the weekend of the Festival. We also are looking for a volunteer to coordinate our volunteers; the responsibilities of this volunteer primarily take place before the Festival, and can be done from home. Anyone interested in finding out more about either position, please give us a call at 206-417-4645 or email us/
