Saturday, April 14, 2012

The Shorewood softball team follows a 5-o home loss to Meadowdale Friday with a game at Marysville Getchell Tuesday.

Shorewood takes a 1-6 Western Conference 3A division record (1-10 overall) into the game at Marysville Getchell High School at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Junior varsity teams from the two schools meet at Marysville-Pilchuck High School at the same time.

The Shorewood varsity defeated Marysville Getchell, 5-2, in a March 20 home game. The Thunderbird junior varsity defeated Marysville Getchell, 17-6 in a March 20 home game.

In Shorewood’s 5-0 home loss to Meadowdale Friday, Stephanie Volbrecht’s single in the fourth inning broke up a perfect game by Meadowdale pitcher Alyssa Reuble, who struck out 14 Shorewood batters in seven innings. The Thunderbird junior varsity lost to Meadowdale 4-0.

The games were moved from Meadowdale to Shorewood’s Meridian Park fields as a result of security concerns at Meadowdale High School. The May 9 contest between the two teams will now be played at Meadowdale instead of Meridian Park.
