The Lady Dolphin Softball Team routed the Lady Cardinals from Skagit Valley College on Friday at Shoreview Park by the scores of 10-0, and 16-0. Both games were called in the 5th inning due to the 8 rule run.
In the first game, Alia Kelly ran her record to 4-2 on the season with a 4 hit shutout while striking out 4. Kelly also had a homerun, her sixth of the year.
SCC was led at the plate by Kelsie Mason who was 3-3, with her first homerun on the season and 3 RBIs. Vallen Brewer had 2 hits and scored two runs. Chelsea Lindroth also hit her first homerun of the year and had 3 RBIs. SCC had 11 hits as a team.
In the second game, three Lady Dolphins had 3 hits each including Sophie Overlock-Pauley who also struck out six from the mound while pitching a 3 hitter to led SCC to an easy 16-0 win.
Vallen Brewer and Chelsea Lindroth had three hits each as well. Ali Kelly hit her 7th homerun and Jarryn Vannatta hit her first.
The Dolphins scored 2 runs each in the 1st and 2nd innings, then blew the game wise open and put SVC away with 6 runs in the 3rd and 4th.
SCC is now 10-9-2 on the season, 5-3 in the NWAACC Northern Region and in 5th place. The top four teams in the region go to the NWAACC Championship in May. But only 2 games separate the top 5 teams in the region.
