The Dolphin Baseball Team found the trip to Bellevue College on Saturday to be a rough one, as the Dolphins were pounded in the opening game, 18-0, but SCC battled back in the second game, dropping a 6-1 game.

SCC injuries forced the Dolphins to pitch a position player in relief on Saturday in the first game, plus put infielders in the outfield as the young team tries to survive a tough season.

In the first game, Bellevue scored in all four of its at bats, as the Bulldogs scored 2, 4, 6 and 6 in their at bats to have the game called after 41/2 innings. Daniel Cavanaugh and Robin Nuyen hit doubles for SCC but that was the only two hits for SCC in the game.

In the second game, SCC took the lead in the top of 3rd 1-0 on a Matt Sweeny homerun, but BC went ahead in the bottom of the inning 2-1 and added 2 more in the 4th to take a 4-1 lead. SCC could not muster another run and Bellevue scored 2 more in the 6th to finish the scoring for the day. Robin Nuyen had another double.

SCC is now 1-22 for the season and 0-10 in the NWAACC Northern Region. Bellevue goes to 23-4 and 9-1.

SCC faces Bellevue again today at 1:00 pm at Meridian Park in Shoreline.
