The Shoreline Community College Men's Tennis Team went 2-0 in the season, as they defeated Skagit Valley College on Friday in Mt. Vernon, WA. SCC took 2 of the 3 doubles to get an early lead in the match and did not look back in the singles as they went 4-2 there for the 6-3 win.

But it was not easy, as SCC's #1 doubles team of Yassar Khan and Alex Casper went 3 sets with SVC, winning the third set in a tiebreaker 7-5, to win the final set 7-6.

SCC dropped #2 doubles, but won at #3 doubles easily, as Josh Cell and Daniel Kalip won 6-1, 6-3.

In singles, SCC won at #1 (Yassar Khan), #2 (Alex Casper), #4 (Will Leach) and #6 (Nicholas Feller). Will Leach had the toughest match, dropping the first set 6-7 on a tiebreaker (7-3), but coming back to win the next two sets, 6-3, 6-2. It was the only singles match to go 3 sets.

SCC will now play on Thursday, against the same Skagit Valley team at home, starting at 1:00 pm.
