St. Barnabas Anglican Church Celebrates Easter after Holy Week Services
St. Barnabas Anglican Church in Shoreline will celebrate the joy of the Resurrection on Easter Sunday, April 8.
There will be only one service at 9 a.m. Easter brunch will follow the celebration of Holy Communion.
Our Shoreline neighbors are invited to join us then, and for all services during Holy Week – as the passion of the Christ and His death are remembered – leading to Easter morning.
Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday services at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on April 1, which start with the blessing of the palms and the procession recalling Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem.
On Maundy Thursday, April 5, a service of Holy Communion at 7 p.m. will commemorate the Last Supper of Jesus and the apostles before His crucifixion.
A silent prayer vigil at the Alter of Repose will follow this service and continue until noon Good Friday, April 6.
Two services of the Stations of the Cross, when the steps of Jesus on the way to his death are retraced, will be at noon and 7 p.m. on Good Friday.
A service of New Light with Holy Community at 7 p.m. on Holy Saturday, April 7, celebrates the transition from the darkness of Jesus in the tomb to the miracle of his Easter Resurrection.
