Three Shorecrest students are winners at Regional Student Art Show

Three Shorecrest High School students are among the award winners at the Regional Student Art Show sponsored by the Puget Sound Educational Service District (PSESD).

Kylie Wilder's sculpture "Umthi-indluvo" (Tree with Elephant) was selected as one of seven regional award winners to advance to the State Art Show in Olympia May 18. Regional winners were selected based on overall points in categories of creativity, composition and technique.

Her artwork was also chosen for a 3-D Best in Show award selected by the judges. These artists receive a plaque in recognition of their achievement.

Tami Johnson is Wilder's art teacher at Shorecrest.

Airplane by Josephine Le

Josephine Le received a PSESD Board Honorable Mention Award for her artwork "Airplane." These artists receive a certificate in recognition of their achievement.

What's Next? by Caroline Harrison

Caroline Harrison's artwork titled "What's Next?" received a King County Executive's Award as selected by representatives from 4Culture (a public corporation managing cultural programs, including the arts, on behalf of King County). Only King County schools are eligible for these awards. Recipients receive a plaque/certificate as recognition for their efforts.
