Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council puts Artists in Schools

Albert Einstein said, “Imagination is more important than knowledge.” Doing something creative every day fuels the imagination, and helps learning. That’s why we must bring the arts in all forms to schools.

This year, the Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council, together with the Shoreline Public Schools Foundation and Opus Bank Community Foundation, has funded over 20 Artists in Schools projects in our schools. Some are occurring as we speak. 

One such project is "Creative Dance with Math Experience" at Ridgecrest Elementary. Artist Debbie Gilbert dances with K-6 students, as they build skills, and connect with math concepts like numbers, shapes, fractions and patterns.

The Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to nurture all of the arts in the community through programs and events, arts education, advocacy, and support for artists and arts organizations. Proceeds from the Gallery at Town Center help fund these programs and events.
