SCC's Voss, Bodman and Scharer in NWAACC All-Star Games Sunday

The Shoreline Community College Basketball Teams had three players participating on Sunday in the NWAACC All-Star Basketball Games at the Pierce College gym.

Jenny Voss represented the Lady Dolphins at 11:00 AM when the Northern Region All-Stars took on the NWAACC Southern Region. Voss was named to the Northern Region All-Defensive team for 2011-12 and led SCC in scoring, assists and steals, and was 3rd in rebounds. She was 17th in the NWAACC in steals with 69.

SCC's sophomores Joe Bodman and Avery Scharer made the Northern Region All-Stars and faced the NWAACC Southern All-Stars at 2:00 PM at Pierce College as well. Scharer and Bodman both made 2nd Team All-Region and Scharer was named All-tournament at the NWAACC Basketball Championship last weekend.

Point guard Scharer led the NWAACC assists while leading SCC in scoring, assists and steals. He was 2nd to Bodman in rebounding as well.

Bodman was second in the NWAACC in rebounds while being second on SCC in scoring, leading in rebounds and blocked shots.

The Lady Dolphins made a major improvement in their play while Voss was a part of the team, going from 4 wins in 2009-10, to 10 wins in 2011-12. Bodman and Scharer led the SCC men's team to best finish ever at the NWAACC Championship, winning 3 games and finishing in 7th place.
