SCC Baseball Drops 2 One Run Games To Yakima Valley CC, 1-2 & 7-8

The Shoreline Community College baseball team lost two games over the weekend to Yakima Valley Community College in Yakima, WA.

In the first game, the Dolphins dropped a 2-1 pitching battle between SCC's Willie Davies and four "Yak" pitchers. Davies gave-up two runs in 7 innings, one earned, walking 3 and having 3 strikeouts. Davies scattered 8 hits on the day. Layton Bush pitched a shutout inning for SCC as well.

The Dolphins were held to just three hits in the game.

In the second game, more runs were scored but the Dolphins again lost by 1 run, 8-7. SCC offense was aided by 7 YVCC errors, as the Dolphins only managed 5 hits in the contest.


Gabriel Rachon and Christian Estabillo had doubles for SCC while Rachon scored two runs and Estabillo had 2 RBIs.

Ryan Garrett picked up the lost for Shoreline.

SCC is now 0-7 on the season and travel back to the east side this upcoming weekend to face Walla Walla CC and Blue Mountain CC on Saturday and Sunday.
