Even with the house closed up tight, keep your indoor air quality tip top
From Home Girl Linda (Reinke) Williford, 206-399-3349
It's March, and you have probably been running the furnace since October and haven't opened the windows in ages. Translation: your home's atmosphere is pretty stale. So, if you're not a fan of persistent dry coughs and other allergy symptoms, follow these helpful tips to keep your indoor air quality tip top.
- Change your furnace filters regularly: not only does a clean furnace filter improve the performance and life of your furnace, it also helps get rid of annoying allergens.
- Use a humidifier: dry air is uncomfortable air, especially in the winter. In addition to aggravating symptoms for allergy and asthma sufferers, it wreaks havoc on wood furniture and flooring.
- Clean out your air ducts: ever want to know where dust bunnies sleep? Check your air ducts and you'll have your answer.
If you ask us, those options sure beat buying a bubble to roll around in, though that'd be pretty cool. Until summer anyway, those bubbles really trap the heat...
