A Shoreline Area News reader reported a fire on February 22nd near the La Maison appartments at approximately 169th and 15th avenue.

She saw a lot of smoke, heard sirens, and found that a police car was blocking the street, with a lot of emergency vehicles on the scene. An aid car left with its siren on.

Melanie Granfors, spokesperson for Shoreline Fire, said that the fire was in a house that neighbors told them had been vacant for 20 years. Neighbors added that transients often stay there.

The fire is still under investigation, with no word on the cause so far.

The fire was extinguished in about 15 minutes and no one was hurt.

The Aid Car that left scene with lights and sirens was probably going to another 911 call.
