On Saturday, March 3, 2012 from 10-11am, Congressman Jim McDermott is hosting a "Coffee with your Congressman" event in Lake Forest Park at The Commons in Third Place Books.
Local residents are invited to join the Congressman for a cup of coffee and to exchange thoughts about current issues facing the country. He will give a brief update about what is going in Congress and answer questions as well.
This is the eighth in a series of neighborhood coffee events that Jim is hosting throughout the Seattle area. Jim is planning additional coffee events for April and May (locations and dates are currently being worked out).
If you need more information about the March 3 coffee event or would like to RSVP, feel free to call Jim's Seattle office at 206-553-7170 or visit his Facebook event page.

At this moment, Shoreline and Lake Forest Park are in two congressional districts. District 1, served by Congressman Jay Inslee, includes most of Shoreline and three-quarters of Lake Forest Park. District 7 has a sliver of southeast Shoreline and one-fourth of Lake Forest Park.
New boundaries were approved by the state legislature in January of this year. As of January 2013. all of Shoreline and all of Lake Forest Park will be in the new 7th district, as well as Woodway and Edmonds. They will be represented by the winner of the November 2012 election. Congressman Jim McDermott is the 12-term incumbent.
Jay Inslee is running for Washington State Governor, so the 1st District seat is open.
