Shorewood took 67-47 loss to Meadowdale Tuesday into Thursday game at Shorecrest, game at Mountlake Terrace Saturday, District tournament next week

The Shorewood girls’ basketball team took a 67-47 loss to Meadowdale Tuesday into its Thursday game at Shorecrest Thursday and a regular-season-ending game at Mountlake Terrace Friday.

Shorewood and Mountlake Terrace meet at 7:15 p.m. Friday at Mountlake Terrace High School, with junior varsity teams from the two schools playing at 5:40. The game was postponed from Jan. 17.

Shorewood went into the Shorecrest game with a 7-7 Wesco 3A record (8-10 overall) after the loss to Meadowdale Tuesday.

The Thunderbirds start Northwest District 3A tournament play Feb. 9, having clinched the sixth and final Wesco berth in the tournament, Shorewood will be a visiting team at the home of one of the top-seeded teams in the tournament.

In Shorewood’s 67-47 loss to Meadowdale, Meadowdale led 20-9 after the first quarter, 34-21 at halftime and 51-33 after three quarters before extending the lead slightly in the final period. Kassie Rasmussen led the Thunderbirds with 15 points, followed by Masha Shtikel with 14.
