The SCC Men's Basketball regular season ended on a sour note on Wednesday at Bellevue College, as the Dolphins were defeated by the Bulldogs 116-85. SCC was never in the game, as Bellevue pushed out early and led 65-41 at half-time and never looked back.
Sophomore Avery Scharer led the Dolphins with 19 points and 6 steals, but the NWAACC leading assist player, averaging 10.47 assists per game, was held to no assists in the game. Earlie Dixon added 12 points for SCC and Joe Bodman had 9 points and 9 rebounds.
Shoreline was out rebounded 48 to 34 and their bench was outscored 49 to 38.
SCC now must wait on the game between North Seattle CC at Whatcom CC on Saturday. If North Seattle wins, SCC and North Seattle will play at Shoreline CC on Monday night at 7:00 PM in a "Play-in" game for the final NWAACC Championship spot from the Northern Region.
If Whatcom wins, then SCC will go to the NWAACC Men's Basketball Championship as the 4th seed from the region and play Mt. Hood Community College in the opening round on March 3.
