Shorecrest girls open District tournament Thursday with home game against Everett after 59-51 home victory over Glacier Peak Friday

The Shorecrest girls’ basketball team starts Northwest District 3A tournament play with a home game against Everett Thursday after finishing the Western Conference 3A play with a 59-51 victory over Glacier Peak Friday.
The Friday game, which gave the Scots second place over third-place Glacier Peak, had been postponed from Jan. 17.
Shorecrest (13-3 Wesco 3A, 16-4 overall) and Wesco No. 5 Everett (9-7, 12-9) play at 7 p.m. at Shorecrest High School.
In Shorecrest’s 59-51 victory over Glacier Peak, the Scots led 14-12 after the first quarter, 30-24 at halftime and 45-33 after three quarters before holding most of the lead through the final period. Bri Lasconia led the Scots with 21 points, followed by Janie Uppinghouse with 13 and Onyie Chibuogwu with 12. The Shorecrest junior varsity (8-8, 8-12) lost to Glacier Peak (16 0, 20-0), 58-45.
Lasconia leads Shorecrest with 354 points in 20 games for an average of 17.4 points per game.
