SCC Men's Basketball defeats North Seattle 112-93 for Homecoming

The SCC Men's Basketball Team broke open a close game in the first half and took control midway through the second half on their way to a 19 point victory over North Seattle Community College at the “Homecoming” game at Shoreline Community College in front of a large crowd in the SCC Gym.
NSCC led by one at half, 46-45, but the SCC press wore down the Storm in the second half as SCC pushed their lead to 26 points at 104 to 78 and cruised to victory.
SCC had a balanced attack with 7 players scoring in double figures. Will Acromite and Jordan Lupher scored 16 each to lead Shoreline with Anthony Edwards adding 14 points with a 6 for 6 night from the floor, including 2 for 2 from three point range. Earlie Dixon and Joe Bodman added 12 points each and Avery Scharer and KJ Hong dropped in 11 points each to finish the double digit scoring for SCC.

Joe Bodmand had 16 rebounds for SCC while Avery Scharer added 5 assists, 2 blocked shots and 2 steals.
SCC is now 14-8 on the season, topping their victory total for last year (13) with 5 more games to play in the regular season. SCC is 8-3 in the region and increased their NWAACC Basketball Playoffs chances by placing NSCC 2 games behind them now with 5 games left for both teams in the year. The top four teams in the region go to the NWAACC Championship, SCC is currently in 4th place in the region but could move up tonight depending on other teams results.
SCC plays league leading Whatcom Community College on Saturday in the SCC Gym at 4:00 PM. Whatcom has beaten SCC twice this season.
