Coal train along Edmonds Waterfront.

Edmonds resident Bob Rinehart sent this photo of what appears to be a coal train in Edmonds, on tracks that pass through Richmond Beach, Saltwater Park, Innis Arden, and The Highlands.

Puget Sound citizens are weighing in on the Gateway Pacific Terminal which could bring up to 18 mile-and-a-half-long coal trains per day screeching through Richmond Beach for decades to come. If you want your voice heard on this issue, attend the public hearing with the Army Corps of Engineers on Dec. 13 from 4-7 p.m. at the Washington State Convention Center. It's a drop-in type of meeting, you don't have to attend all of it to make your voice heard. Go to www.coaltrainfacts.org if you want to learn more.
