Andrew Garrison of Shorewood wins two events in state-qualifying times as T-bird swimmers finish dual-meet season with home loss to Kamiak Tuesday

Andrew Garrison of Shorewood won both the 50- and 100-yard freestyle races, both in State 3A qualifying times, Tuesday, but the Thunderbird swimming team lost to Kamiak at Shoreline Pool.
The loss to Kamiak finished Shorewood’s dual-meet season with a 9-5 record,
Kamiak of the Western Conference 4A South division outscored Shorewood of the Wesco 3A division 116-69, as the Knights won nine of the twelve events, two in State 4A qualifying times.

The only other Shorewood winner Tuesday was two-time State champion diver Eddie Young,
Shorewood competes in the Northwest District 3A championships Feb. 10-11 at Marysville-Pilchuck High School, along with Shorecrest, the other seven members of the Wesco 3A division and the three 3A members of the Northwest Conference.
Swimmers who haven’t met District qualifying times will compete Saturday, Feb. 4, in the Last-Chance Invitational at the Shoreline Pool.
