Shorewood girls to play host to Meadowdale Jan. 4 after 66-40 loss to Glacier Peak Dec. 22

The Shorewood girls’ basketball team takes a 4-2 Western Conference 3A record (4-5 overall) into a home game with Meadowdale Wednesday, Jan. 4, after closing the pre-holiday schedule with a 66-40 loss to Glacier Peak Dec. 22.

Shorewood and Meadowdale meet at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday at Shorewood with the Thunderbird junior varsity team (3-3, 3-6) meeting the Meadowdale JVs (5-1, 6-1) at 5:40 and “C” teams from the two schools playing at 3:45.

In the 66-40 loss at Glacier Peak, Shorewood led 12-9 after the first quarter but fell behind 29-22 at halftime and 46-32 after three quarters. Kassie Rasmussen and Masha Shtikel led the Thunderbirds with 9 points each. The Shorewood junior varsity lost to Glacier Peak, 71-39. The Thunderbird “C” team lost 51-6.

Shtikel leads the T-birds in season scoring with 131 points in 9 games for an average of 14.6 points per game.
