Swedish Medical Center announced Monday that its first baby of the new year was born at 12:01 am on Sunday, January 1, 2012 at Swedish Hospital in Edmonds, aka Stevens Hospital.
The 7-pound, 11-ounce baby boy, Weston Isaac, was born to first-time parents Sara and Matthew LaFon of Shoreline. Weston, who was 21 inches long, was delivered by Dr. David Fuhrmann.
Weston was due January 6, but came a few days early to earn the honors, Sara told My Edmonds News as the family posed for a photo Monday morning.
To celebrate the occasion, Swedish/Edmonds presented the Fuhrmanns with a congratulatory newborn gift basket.
