Shorecrest girls return to winning ways with 43-41 road victory over league-leading Glacier Peak

The Shorecrest girls’ basketball team returned to its winning ways and ended its two-game losing streak with a 43-41 road victory over Western Conference 3A leading Glacier Peak Friday.
After winning its first eight games, Shorecrest had finished December with a non-league loss to 4A Edmonds-Woodway and opened January with a Wesco 3A loss to Everett.
Shorecrest next plays a home game against Oak Harbor Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. with junior varsity teams from the two schools meeting at 5:40,
The victory over Glacier Peak gave the Scots a 6-1 Wesco 3A record (9-2 overall) leaving Shorecrest just behind Glacier Peak’s 7-1 Wesco 3A record (10-2 overall).
In the 43-41 victory, Shorecrest led 9-4 after the first quarter, 16-14 at halftime and 31-30 after three quarters. Senior Bri Lasconia led the Scots with 15 points, followed by Janie Uppinghouse with 13.
Lasconia leads Shorecrest for the season with 154 points in 11 games for an average of 14.0 points per game.
