SCC Men's Basketball defeats Edmonds CC 116-106

The Shoreline Community College Basketball Team held off a determined Edmonds CC team on Monday night in the SCC Gym. SCC opened up a 15 point halftime lead (60-45), but Edmonds fought back twice to cut the lead to 3 points, but SCC hit its foul shots down the stretch to hold on for the win.
SCC had a balanced scoring attack with Joe Bodman leading the way with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Avery Scharer scored 20 points with 11 assists, 5 steals and 2 blocked shots. Earlie Dixon added 9 points, Jordan Luper 18 points, Troy Fiawoo, 12 and Reuben Donaldson finished the double digit scorers with 10 points.
SCC hit 22 of 27 foul shots on the night, out-rebounded Edmonds 59-46 and scored 30 points on three point shots compared to Edmonds who only hit 1 three pointer for the game.
SCC is now 9-7 on the year and 3-2 in the NWAACC Northern Region. Edmonds falls to 1-11 and 1-3. SCC plays Everett CC on Wednesday night in the SCC Gym at 7:30 pm.

I had no idea SCC or ECC had basketball teams or coaches at that level. As a local still in mourning from Howard Schultz sale of the Sonics this is great news. I have already printed thier schedules and plan to attend thier games.
