Channel 26 to air live local high school games

The City of Shoreline dedicated a local education channel which is divided equally between the Shoreline School District and Shoreline Community College. This Education Access Channel, broadcast on Comcast Channel 26 and Frontier FIOS Channel 36, is part of the cable franchise agreement among the City, Comcast, and Frontier.

This is the fifth season of producing live, local high school games, as well as replays of these and prior telecasts, on the Education Access Channel.

Most individuals involved in putting these telecasts on the air are students, members of the combined Shorewood/Shorecrest Live Video Production Club. The game announcer is a community volunteer; Jason Maher is the District's tech wizard; and the students are supervised by faculty advisors Trent Mitchell, Shorecrest, and Marty Ballew, Shorewood. Programming is telecast from the Shoreline School District's Video Studio at the Shoreline Center.

Here's the winter telecast schedule for the combined Live Video Production Club.
  • Friday Jan. 6. Cascade at Shorewood girls basketball. 7:15 pm.
  • Saturday Jan. 21. Hoopapalooza double-header. SC and SW girls at 5 pm. The boys play at 7 pm.
    • Hoopapalooza games are played at Shorewood.
  • Wednesday, Feb. 1. Boys regular season finale. SW and SC boys. 7:15.
    • This game will be played at Shorecrest.

The District's website has a daily programming schedule, with a search function for looking for broadcast repeats.
