The Shorecrest girls’ basketball team takes a 1-0 record into a Monday game at Arlington after a 52-45 season-opening home victory over Lake Washington of the Kingco Conference 3A division Wednesday.
Shorecrest of the Western Conference 3A division meets Arlington of the Wesco 4A North division at 7:15 p.m. Monday at Arlington High School. Junior varsity teams from the two schools meet at 5:40. The Arlington varsity has a 1-0 record after defeating Oak Harbor of the Wesco 3A, 51-15, Thursday. The Arlington junior varsity defeated Oak Harbor, 41-17.
In the Wednesday victory over Lake Washington, the Scots stretched a two-point third-quarter lead into a seven-point win by outscoring the Kangaroos 11-6 in the fourth quarter. Bri Lasconia led Shorecrest with 17 points, six in the fourth quarter; teammate India Matheson had nine points and eight rebounds; and sophomore Onyie Chibuogwu added 14 points in her first varsity game. The Shorecrest junior varsity lost to Lake Washington, 38-27.
