Aster Events staff with Polly the Penguin at 2010 party |
Wonderland Developmental Center in Shoreline hosted their annual Winter Wonderland party on December 9, 2011 from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. in the library at the North City Elementary Building in Shoreline.
More than 150 children and adults attended, including Wonderland client families, alumni families, donors, board members and volunteers. Guests enjoyed food and beverages provided by local businesses, arts and crafts, a bouncy house, and were able to have photos taken with special guest Polly the Penguin.
Special thanks to Spiro’s Pizza, Safeway, and Ballinger Thriftway for their generous donations.
For 42 years Wonderland’s programs have offered infants and toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities and their families a bridge to a brighter future through an array of services designed to nurture child development and to strengthen family units. Wonderland children reflect a variety of diagnoses such as speech and language delays, autism, Fragile X, Down Syndrome, cerebral palsy, and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.
Wonderland provides these services to approximately 100 families per month throughout Edmonds, Northshore, Shoreline, and Seattle School Districts, King and Snohomish Counties, and the cities of Shoreline, Bothell, and Kenmore. Services are available to all families who qualify for Early Intervention Services, regardless of their ability to pay.
