Five Finalists Selected for City of Shoreline Administrative Services Director Position

From the Office of the Shoreline City Manager

Shoreline City Manager Julie Underwood selected five finalists to move to the final round of interviews for the administrative services director position. Assistant City Manager Debbie Tarry held the position before the City Manager appointed her Assistant City Manager in May of this year.

The five finalists are:
  • Robert Hartwig, Finance and Human Resources Director for the City of Erie, Colorado;
  • Jenny Haruyama, Assistant Finance/ Budget Director for the Town of Los Gatos, California;
  • Sandy Langdon, Finance Director for the City of Marysville, Washington;
  • Terri Velasquez, former Chief Financial Officer/Financial and Administrative Services Director for the City of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and
  • Jacqueline Wedding-Scott, former City Manager for the City of Centennial, Colorado.

The Administrative Services Director reports directly to the City Manager and is a key member of the City’s Leadership Team, which is comprised of department directors. The Director oversees the Administrative Services Department, which includes finance, information technology and the city clerk’s office.

The City received 50 applications for the position. Of those, 11 were chosen to go through an initial phone interview. From the results of those interviews, the City Manager chose the five finalists.

The final interviews will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 6-7. Candidates will be interviewed by two separate panels made up of staff and the City’s Leadership Team. In addition, the City Manager will meet individually with each candidate.

It is anticipated that a new administrative services director will be selected by late December.
