As of 4 PM December 1st, 2011 the National Weather Service of Seattle (NWS) has issued an air stagnation advisory for the entire Puget Sound Lowland region, this includes Shoreline, and Lake Forest Park.
The advisory is in effect from Friday at 8 PM to Monday at 4 PM. A period of stagnant atmospheric conditions are expected to develop Friday evening and persist through Monday afternoon. This is due to the high pressure zone that has developed over our area.
A stage 1 burn ban has already been issued for Snohomish and Pierce counties. King County remains ban free at the moment. Due to the air stagnation and the moisture trapped under this high pressure bubble, we will see foggy and cloudy conditions at most times throughout the weekend, with high temps in the upper 30's and lows flirting with freezing or colder.
Check back for updates.
