The Shorecrest football team finished its season with a 5-5 record (5-3 Wesco 3A) after losing a Northwest District playoff game to Mount Vernon, 28-14, Tuesday, Nov. 1, at Shoreline Stadium.
Mount Vernon advanced to a quad-district playoff game Saturday, Nov. 5, which the Bulldogs (7-4) lost to Metro League champion O’Dea (10-0), 50-25, at Seattle Memorial Stadium.
Wesco 3A champion Meadowdale (10-0) is the only Northwest District team to qualify for the State 3A round of 16 after Oak Harbor, Glacier Peak, Ferndale and Mount Vernon all lost quad-district preliminary-round games Friday or Saturday, Nov. 4-5, Meadowdale will play Mercer Island (8-2) in a State playoff game Friday at Edmonds Stadium.
In Shorecrest’s loss to Mount Vernon, the Scots fell behind by 14 points in the first quarter. Quarterback Ted Hammond was 16-for-37 for 271 yards and two touchdowns but was intercepted three times.

The Shorecrest junior varsity game with Glacier Peak, scheduled for Monday, Oct. 31, was postponed without a make-up date, leaving the Scot JVs with a 0-5 record (0-4 Wesco 3A).
The Scot “C” team finished with a 1-5 record (1-6 Wesco 3A).
