SCC Softball clinics for female students grades 3-8

Join the SCC coaching staff for softball clinics designed to teach the game of softball to young athletes in 3rd to 8th grades.

The clinics will feature the fundamental approach to hitting, fielding, and throwing to ensure a proper foundation for the athlete. Players will be grouped by skill level for instruction. All levels are welcome.

Coaches:
  • Lance Swehla enters his 6th season as the Shoreline Community College Head Softball Coach. Coach Swehla has taken the program from the bottom of the NWAACC Northern Region standings to a region championship in 2009 and two second place finishes in 2008 and 2010. SCC softball is 55-17 in the region in the past 3 seasons and consistently produces NWAACC All-Stars and sends multiple players each year to four year colleges to play softball. SCC softball also produces student-athletes with 3.00 GPA or higher on a consistent basis, stressing academics as an important part of the softball program.

  • Athea Surface is the current SCC softball team pitching coach and a private pitching instructor. Ms. Surface is a former Shoreline Community College softball pitcher, and has pitched and played at the NCAA Division II level at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, TX.
